Biography

I was born in a middle class family in Taiwan in 1984. My parents were a teacher and a bank clark, who work hard to provide to their children--my older sister, my younger brother and me. My siblings and I are very close, and we are a small and intimate family.

I've always wanted to check out one of the "western" countries. In 2002 after graduating from high school, I came to the US to study art in University of Washington. After my BFA I moved to the Bay Area, working during the day and continue working on my art works whenever I can.

Recently, as of end of 2007, I've been developing an urge to go back to Asia. Ang Lee, my role model, once said something like, "we have to face our own culture." I want to face my own culture. Not just to face it, but plunge into it. And I will, very soon.
